The Journal of Science and Agricultural Technology (JSAT) has complied a set of guidelines and recommendations published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (https://publicationethics.org/) to ensure the high quality of scientific publications, credibility of scientific findings, and the author receiving credit for their work.
To guarantee that JSAT publishes only original works that have neither been under review nor published elsewhere, JSAT has employed Turnitin software to detect overlapping and similar content in submitted submissions. Authors must provide credit to anyone whose words, figures, or ideas they use. Reuse of language must be kept to a minimum, credited, or quoted in the text, and all sources must be cited when they are used. Plagiarism-infringing manuscripts will be rejected.
Sanctions for duplicate submissions and publications will be applied to manuscripts that are discovered to have been published or are currently being reviewed elsewhere. Authors who have used their own previously published work or work that is presently being reviewed as the foundation for a submitted manuscript must cite the earlier work and explain how their new work goes above and beyond what was previously done.
Citation manipulation sanctions will be applied to submitted manuscripts that are discovered to contain citations that are primarily intended to boost the number of citations to a certain author’s work or to publications published in a specific journal.
Sanctions for data fabrication and falsification will be applied to submit articles that contain either manufactured or falsified experimental results, including the modification of pictures.
All mentioned authors must have contributed significantly to the research in the manuscript and given their consent to all of its assertions. It is crucial to acknowledge everyone who made a major scientific contribution, including lab technicians and students.
In redundant publications, research findings are improperly split up into many articles.
Any financial or other significant conflict of interest that could be taken to have an impact on the findings or interpretation of a manuscript should be disclosed by all authors in the publication. All sources of funding and financial support for the project should be disclosed.
Authors should present the results accurately, clearly, and honestly without fabrication, inappropriate data manipulation, or commercial or non-commercial conflict of interest, ensuring their actual involvement in the work and sufficient contribution to the scientific results and findings that could be corroborated or verified by others. In addition, authors must provide information about the ethical aspects of the research when it involves human or animal subjects or the use of biological materials. The manuscript must not have already been published in another journal or be being considered for publication in another venue at the same time. It is also forbidden for authors to publish the same results in more than one journal. Authors are expected to participate in the peer-review process and respond to the requirements of the Reviewers and Editors for the corrections and improvement of the manuscript.
Peer reviewers are expected to cooperate with the editor and editorial board to assess manuscripts objectively and without bias and to provide accurate and understandable feedback on the works. They must also make sure that all manuscript-related information is kept confidential and notify the Editor-in-Chief if they become aware of any copyright violations or plagiarism on the part of the author. If the reviewers do not have the necessary subject competence to complete the review, they should declare this or tell the Editor-in-Chief and withdraw from the review process. They must specify in detail the areas for which they have the necessary competence if they can only evaluate a portion of the paper.
Editors decide whether to accept or reject a paper for publication based on the significance, clarity, and originality of the paper as well as the study’s validity and relevance to the journal’s scope. They also ensure the confidentiality of any information or materials submitted by the authors, the protection of the identities of peer referees, the openness, fairness, and timeliness of the peer review process, and that all information and materials will only be disclosed when necessary. Any unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted paper will not be used for other purposes without the author’s explicit written consent. Submissions made to a journal by the Editors will be handled by alternative Editors to ensure the process remains fair and unbiased.
